The Transformers franchise has introduced several “Titan Class” action figures, with Autobots and Decepticons that tower over their fellow Cybertronians. Now, a third-party toy line is adding two new massive villains to its collection, though in a smaller scale than what fans are accustomed to.

Developed by third-party company Dr. Wu, these two new figures offer a fresh take on anime-exclusive Transformers antagonists. While they maintain key design elements from their original toys, these miniature versions can also transform into small, cube-like shapes. By reworking previous molds from the series, the figures are smaller than anticipated, but still pack plenty of surprises in their compact form.

Miniature Versions of Anime-Exclusive Decepticon & Predacon Transformers

Dr. Wu has revealed a new figure, the DW-E18 E Evil Dragon, which is a retooled and redecoed version of the brand’s previous DW-E14 Energy Dragon. The original figure offered a smaller take on the classic Generation 1 Decepticon Trypticon, with a corresponding figure for his Autobot rival, Metroplex. The new DW-E18 E retains the same design elements but has been upgraded to represent Gigastorm, the enhanced beast mode version of Megastorm, a character from the Japanese anime Beast Wars II: Super-Lifeform Transformers. Like the original toy, Gigastorm transforms from a dragon-like robotic dinosaur into a city-sized battle station. As with other figures in Dr. Wu’s “Titan Class” lineup, this figure also features a transformation into a compact cube, reminiscent of the Beastbox figures by 52 Toys.

Additionally, Dr. Wu shared an exciting update on their Weibo account, unveiling the color schemes for two upcoming toys: the DW-E56 and DW-E56B Giant Claw figures. The primary version, DW-E56, is based on the Generation 1 Decepticon Scorponok, complete with a functional Headmaster robot that transforms into the character’s iconic scorpion form and a battle station. The secondary color scheme, DW-E56B, reimagines Scorponok as “Black Zarak” (often referred to as “Dark Scorponok” by international fans), a new version of the original character from the anime Transformers: Super-God Masterforce. Like Scorponok, Black Zarak can transform into a robot, a robotic scorpion, and a base form, with the added feature of folding into a cube, in line with Dr. Wu’s design philosophy.

The DW-E18 E Evil Dragon (Gigastorm) is now available for preorder through various online retailers and is expected to ship in January 2025. However, the DW-E56 and DW-E56B figures of Scorponok and Black Zarak are expected to be released later, with preorders starting in the third quarter of 2025, making fans eager to wait for these miniature renditions of beloved Transformers characters. These releases continue Dr. Wu’s trend of offering unique and compact versions of iconic Transformers figures, appealing to collectors and fans who appreciate the combination of nostalgia and innovation.
